Tafea leaves for Honiara decisive match

Tafea-team.jpgTafea FC President, Jean Pierre Nirua has named the Tafea squad for the O’league match in Honiara with Kossa FC from Solomon Islands and Ba FC from Fiji.
Mr Nirua made the announcement on Saturday at the capital Port Vila where former Tafea coach Robert Calvo was invited to speak to members of the squad.
He said he has confidence in the players although the match with Kossa and Ba will be two massive games not only for Tafea but also for
Vanuatu as a whole.
The Tafea squad includes: David Chilia (G), Obed Samson, Jack Iaput, Ephreim Kalorip, Manses Tom, Fredy Vava, Moise Poita, Jean Nako, Iwai Richard, Mermer Etienne, Nake Hubert, Sakama Francois, Ali Sailas, Alphonse Wellin, Gete Jeffrey, Namatak Sailas, Christopher Shem. There are four officials namely Saby Natonga as Vice President of Tafea, Sowany Joseph as team manager, Coach Michel Calo and Doctor Dick Iatika.
A friendly match has been arranged with the Solomon Islands Makuru FC on Wednesday 24 October. Makuru represented the Solomons in last year’s O’league campaign.
Mr Nirua told the Daily Sport that his squad is ready to take on the
Solomon Islands team on October 27 for the first of the home and away series.
“I am sure the boys will take the game seriously on behalf of the people of
Vanuatu and to improve on their last outing.
“Of course most of our players have extensive experience in this tournament and with the support of some new talents, we will all be proud of”, Mr Nirua said. He promised Tafea will showcase their skill and experience and to make Vanuatu football proud.  He said it is important for the boys to win their first match to help boost their moral before they play Ba FC. On October 28, Tafea will fly to Fiji to play Ba three days later.  Most Ba players play in the Fiji national squad. The Tafea Management has called on the football family in Vanuatu to to provide the boys with moral support and pray. The Squad leaves on tuesday 22 October at
