The top spot in the league table was at stake last weekend as the two giants faced each other in the country's capital city.
At the end of an exciting 90 minutes, Tafea FC emerged the winner in the clash with Amical FC and as a result has increased its lead at the top of the TVL Premier League.  The 2-1 victory cemented TAFEA FC’s position at the top of the League while Ifira Black Birds FC remained rooted to the bottom of the table following a narrow 3-2 defeat at the hands of Yatel FC. Erakor Golden Star FC ended a losing sequence when they crushed Westtan Broncos 4-1.
It was an entertaining afternoon with another efficient performance from Tafea FC, even thought Amical FC started the better of the two sides, and had an early opportunity through Eric Ishmael whose shot was just wide off the mark.  It was Tafea who took control of the game and open the lead when Hubert Nake picked the ball up 30 yards out run past a number of defenders and fired a thundering shoot that crashed to the back of the Amical keeper’s net.
Tafea FC continued to press at the start of the second half and this eventually paid off when the team was awarded a penalty five minutes into the second half for a clumsy tackle by Jean Robert Yelou on Striker Richard Iwai.
Tafea FC penalty specialist Samson Obed gave no chance to William Soromon and netted the ball to increase the lead to 2-0.
However, after this goal, Tafea FC made same substitutions that created same confusion in the team which allowed Amical FC to get back into the match and took advantage of the situation and the space being left by Tafea FC midfielders.  Eric Ishmael and Iakar Tess both had a couple of chances each, but could not get the better of young goalkeeper Sike Malas.
Finally, on the hour mark, Antoine Bosco reduced the score for Amical FC after a good move from Jerry Shem on the left side and a perfect center which found Bosco totally free of any marking at the far post.
In injury time Amical FC also went close to equalizing through substitute Jason Avock who failed to take advantage of a clear opportunity.
Tafea FC finally held on to record another vital victory and increased the feeling of déjà vu among Port Vila football fans.
Veteran Hubert Reuben keeps Erakor GS on course for the TVL league Title.
Early in the Afternoon, Erakor GS defeated heavily Westtan Broncos 4-1. Veteran Striker Hubert Reuben also signaled his return to the TVL premier League with a double after missing the beginning of the season through injury.  Campbell Sakary and Albert Frem added the other two goals to give Erakor a rather flattering score line.  Jacques Harry scored the only goal for Westtan from the penalty spot.

Yatel FC survived a late scare
A blinding first half performance by Yatel Football Club was enough to seal a win over Ifira Black Birds FC with 3 goals in the first 45 minutes.
Vanuatu National representative Sithy Thompsen opened the scoring in the early minutes of the games followed by two goals in quick succession just before the first half time by Robert Tasso and Papison Tatley.
At half time, while Yatel players thought they had the game in the bag and would be cruising towards an win, Ifira BB
fought back in the second half to reduce the margin through a family affair when brothers Chichirua, Andrew and Waoute both scored and gave Ifira fans a lively and thrilling second half.
However, Ifira failed to find a late equalizer, enabling Yatel FC to survive a late scare with a tough 3-2 victory.
